It’s a wonderful week to be a fed-up parent.
In a few states, yesterday was election day. And in Virginia, a notoriously purple state whose elections tend to foreshadow national political changes, we saw something remarkable: a Republican gubernatorial candidate gained ground in the suburbs. Not only that, but Glenn Younkin flipped a blue state red.
And fired-up, fed-up parents like you and I are to thank.
You see, talking heads and beltway politicos had predicted Republican losses in Virginia’s crucial suburban districts, citing Trump’s poor performance in the suburbs in 2020.
However, these “experts” failed to account for the revolution burning in school districts across the country… with suburb behemoths Loudoun and Fairfax County at the epicenter.
It’s no coincidence that the successful Youngkin campaign embraced parents’ rights and educational choice as a top issue on the campaign trail. Voters of all political stripes are tired of being subverted by an ever-encroaching nanny state robbing them of their parental autonomy.
Debates on Critical Race Theory, school mask-and-vaccine policies, and “woke” initiatives like gender-neutral bathrooms have been simmering for years now. But with more governor’s races, midterms, and a Presidential election coming up, the fever pitch is just starting.
After years of school boards pushing the envelope in cities, suburbs, and small towns alike, viral videos of parents rallying for educational reforms have captivated the country. People are starting to realize that they’re not alone in their frustration.
It would seem the radical left, the teacher’s unions, and the school boards have overplayed their hand. And boy, will there be consequences. The fight for parental rights is just starting, and not a moment too soon.
We can run ourselves ragged trying to fix problems like hyperinflation, the regulatory burden, taxes, privacy, elections, you name it. If the State gets to teach our kids what to think, all we’ll ever get is exhaustion. Our efforts will last a couple of decades at most unless our children are brought into the equation.
The simple fact is that our country isn’t getting better until we, the parents, say enough is enough. We must demand accountability and autonomy in education. We must not let distant and corrupt bureaucrats control the minds of our children.
If you’re receiving this newsletter, you probably don’t need me to tell you that the public school system is bad. It’s blatantly indoctrinating kids with nonsense while neglecting to equip them for adulthood. Basic math and literacy requirements are going out the window in favor of leftist woke-ism. If we don’t act in a big way here, we’re in big trouble.
Fortunately, I have hope. Parents like you are out there shaking up the status quo, flipping entire states, and forcing a conversation on the future of our country: our children. Not to mention, you’re buying our children’s books on civics, economics, and limited government by the millions…
All of this to say: bold and brave parents, thank you. I see you. As of last night, our political establishment sees you… whether it wants to or not. And the Tuttle Twins is here with resources to take accountability for your children’s education, whatever that may look like for your family.
Mark my words: Virginia won’t be the last surprise for the Democrats and their crony friends within the teacher’s unions.
The reckoning is just beginning.
