The Mainstream Media Has a New Solution For Covid-19: Communism

This past week, The New York Times published what might be its most offensive and ridiculous headline yet: “Power, Patriotism, and 1.4 Billion People: How China Beat the Virus and Roared Back.”

What? Are we talking about the same China that hid thousands of cases from the world? The same China that forced people into hospitals and quarantine?

Sadly, yes. And it gets worse because the article proceeds to praise the actions of the Chinese Communist Party — even arguing that Communist leader Xi Jinping and China should be a model for world leaders on how to handle the virus.

“In the year since the coronavirus began its march around the world, China has done what many other countries would not or could not do. With equal measures of coercion and persuasion, it has mobilized its vast Communist Party apparatus to reach deep into the private sector and the broader population, in what the country’s leader, Xi Jinping, has called a ‘people’s war’ against the pandemic — and won.

The success has positioned China well, economically and diplomatically, to push back against the United States and others worried about its seemingly inexorable rise. It has also emboldened Mr. Xi, who has offered China’s experience as a model for others to follow.”

Honestly, after reading that, I feel like I need to take a shower.

I don’t have a lot of faith in our mainstream media, but to openly praise a country and leader that currently have a portion of their own citizens in concentration camps is a new low.

It is this kind of reporting which is the exact reason we must teach our children about the dangers of coercive government because most adults, even New York Times journalists, are completely blind to it.

These are the same people that encourage restrictive mask mandates and damaging shutdowns, and now they want to push it further into complete government control and forced compliance.
