Lockdown 2.0 and the Homeschooling Surge

I hope you’re ready for Lockdown 2.0…because it’s coming whether we like it or not.

How do I know?

For starters, Dr. Fauci is claiming the U.S. won’t enter another lockdown, while using the same breath to spread fear about “super-infectious” Delta and Lambda variants.

Judging by the flip-flops and gaslighting the government has put us through, I’d be crazy to believe we’re not locking down again. In fact, I’m inclined to do exactly the opposite.

Don’t believe me? Just take a look at the recent history of mask mandates.

First, Fauci and the CDC told us not to wear masks because they supposedly weren’t effective. Then, overnight, we all had to “mask up” to do business or be in public. Once vaccination rates went up, we were allowed to go maskless once again. But yet again, in major cities across America, it’s back to masking. Those pesky variants

It’s to the point where “two weeks to slow the spread” is more of a punchline than a promise.

We have every right to be angry about these moving goalposts. The public has been aggressively gaslit and manipulated by people who knew better all along. Sadly, asking questions doesn’t seem to make you many friends these days.

Especially questions like, “if vaccines protect the vaccinated, why does everybody care so much about whether I get one?”

Or, “if children aren’t at risk of contracting Covid, why must they wear a mask at school all day?”

In fact, those are more likely to get you thrown in Facebook jail than they are to spark a respectful dialogue. Sign of the times, I suppose.

It’s no secret that children have suffered the worst of this pandemic since day one. School districts and education boards have sacrificed priceless years of childhood learning to satisfy the demands of teachers’ unions and out-of-touch bureaucrats.

This started with the great “distance learning” experiment of 2020. Public school instruction through laptops and iPads to kids sitting at their dinner tables: what could go wrong?

Families lacking resources meant multiple children sharing computers, unable to follow along with lesson plans. Many parents couldn’t afford to stay home with their kids and help them make sense of the lessons. Entire classes fell behind and test scores plummeted.

Then, once school began to meet in person again, the mask circus reached the kids.

Kids as young as kindergarteners were forced to breathe into damp, soiled face coverings 8 hours at a time. Not because they were in any real danger of catching Covid, but because the government arbitrarily decided this was necessary.

But all of this performative activism has not been without its consequences.

There are plenty of long-suffering people who would rather follow ridiculous rules than rock the boat or be seen as “extreme.” But when powerful forces start hurting their kids, even the most moderate people will start to wake up and push back. That’s been proven in the skyrocketing rates of families trying homeschooling for the first time.

The government has completely overplayed its hand. It’s the one silver lining we’ve been given in this disastrous season.

There’s never been a better time to take your children’s future into your own hands than right now.

All of that said, homeschooling is no easy route. It’s a lot of responsibility to take on, with a lot of tough decisions to make. You might be excited to teach your kids the ideas that they wouldn’t learn in public school, but it’s not so easy to determine how to make that happen.

As a father of two homeschooled kids, it was this exact conundrum that inspired me to start writing kid-friendly books about economics, civics, and personal responsibility.

Through engaging characters and storylines, the Tuttle Twins series is here to help you teach your kids about the real world in a way they’ll actually enjoy. And we don’t hold back on the truth… our books dive into topics like government corruption, personal responsibility, inflation, and unjust laws.

I may be a huge fan of homeschooling, but I understand that different families have different scenarios and needs. This is why our books are written to supplement however your kids are learning: whether that’s homeschooling, un-schooling, charter schooling, or public schooling.

As parents, we can’t fix every problem out there, but we can prepare our kids to think critically and logically about the world around them. And that’s quite literally what we’re here for.

Don’t go it alone. Join us, and let’s raise up a generation of awesome status-quo-challengers and critical thinkers.

Until next time….
