Happy Wednesday!
By now, we’ve all heard the catchy “Vote Blue No Matter Who” slogan, and it has become pretty clear what it means.
It’s a mantra that prioritizes party loyalty over common sense and critical thinking. It asks people to vote blindly without considering the consequences, and without even caring who the person being given power actually is.
It’s literally the political equivalent of jumping off a cliff just because everyone else is doing it.
And fully grown-up adults are seemingly all-in.
We’ve all seen how this mindset has spiraled out of control in recent years—with reasoned debate being replaced in nearly all facets of life by purely emotional, “my team” thinking.
During COVID, anyone who dared to question the narrative was immediately labeled an “anti-science conspiracy theorist,” and we’re seeing it all again in the current political landscape; anything less than absolute allegiance is met with hostility, and blind obedience to the party is the norm.
Crazy.
And now, we have Kamala Harris picking Tim Walz as her running mate.
The media is working overtime to paint him as this “aw-shucks” Midwesterner, but dig even a little bit, and you’ll find the truth.
Walz has championed some of the most radical policies around.
From his efforts to support so-called gender-affirming care for minors by pushing for them to be able to make significant medical decisions without parental consent (and punishing parents who refuse to comply), to his heavy-handed COVID-19 policies that left Minnesotans struggling for air, his track record shows who he really is.
He’s the guy that actually set up a hotline for people to be able to call in and report their neighbors for not following his pandemic policies.
He’s even bragged about Nancy Pelosi warning him to take a more moderate stance and is on camera saying, “Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values. One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness!”
There is nothing down-homey about this guy.
He’s all big gov, all the time.
Of course we already know the Democrats have gone off the rails. You’ve seen it, I’ve seen it, and we all know it’s only getting crazier.
And although they haven’t (yet) taken to chanting “Better Red Than Dead” the Republicans have a concerning amount of tribalistic thinking amongst their ranks as well.
That’s why it’s crucial now, more than ever, to make sure our kids can navigate this madness with a solid grounding in critical thinking.
Our Tuttle Twins series was created for exactly this purpose.
In The Tuttle Twins and the Fate of the Future, we teach kids about the dangers of concentrating too much power in the hands of a few—emphasizing the importance of individual liberty. The Tuttle Twins and the Golden Rule shows them why treating others as they’d like to be treated isn’t just a nice idea—it’s a foundation for a peaceful and prosperous society.
And our newest book, The Tuttle Twins and the Medals of Merit, presents the idea of merit as vital to human flourishing—teaching kids the value of hard work and personal achievement. In a world where fairness is often prioritized over hard-earned success, it’s more important than ever to help our kids understand why effort and excellence matter.
If we want to inoculate our kids against the kind of collective craziness we’re seeing, we need to arm them with the tools to think for themselves.
We’re committed to helping parents raise a generation that questions the status quo and stands firm in their values.
It’s the only way to shape a future that any of us will want to live in.
