Most people think of poverty as a problem the government needs to fix.
But that’s not quite the right way to look at it.
Poverty isn’t some mysterious condition we fall into when systems fail—it’s the original state. It’s the default; the starting point, and it certainly isn’t something the government can solve.
The real question we should be asking is, What causes prosperity?
Because prosperity is the exception. It has to be created, built, earned, and protected.
The truth is, the government doesn’t (and can’t!) create prosperity—it can only get in the way of it.
Not only does the government's welfare state not eliminate poverty, it actually institutionalizes it.
It creates a system where dependency is rewarded and personal effort is punished. One where hard work doesn’t pay off like it should, and where people are kept just comfortable enough to stay put, but not free enough to rise.
And it’s not just the handouts that keep us poor and stuck. It’s what gets taken from us before we ever even have the chance to get ahead.
Taxation, along with being literal theft, is also the quiet partner of poverty.
Because every dollar taken from us in taxes is a dollar that we can’t use to start a business, pay off debt, invest in our kids, or serve others. Every tax levied is a vote of no confidence in our ability to solve our own problems. It is an unspoken claim that bureaucrats know better than we do about how to prosper and thrive.
Of course it never works. The money disappears, and the problems remain. Actually, the problems often get worse—just look at public education!
Economic liberty, not government redistribution of wealth (which sounds a lot like socialism, by the way) is the real path to prosperity.
That’s the foundation we’re building into the new economics courses at the Tuttle Twins Academy.
These courses don’t teach kids to memorize formulas or parrot buzzwords—they teach them to understand how the world really works and how to think about things like:
– Why inflation hurts working families the most
– How taxes quietly stifle growth and limit opportunity
– What creates wealth—and what destroys it
– Why incentives matter far more than intentions
– And how everyday people—not government programs—lift the world out of poverty
This isn’t just about helping your kids understand economics, although it certainly does that! It’s about raising a generation that knows how to create value, spot bad policy, and protect their future from those who would try to shape it for them.
Right now, you can enroll at a major discount, so don’t miss out!
These brand-new courses are some of the most important content we’ve ever released.
They’re fun, accessible, and packed with real-world application. If your kids can understand where wealth comes from—and how to keep more of it—they’ll be light-years ahead of most adults.
Check out the new economics courses today and give your kids the tools to build real prosperity—no government permission required.
