Every year around this time, parents start gearing up to send their kids back to school.
Every year they are promised that the school system is preparing their kids for the “real world.”
And every year, more and more families are left wondering what, exactly, their kids’ schools think that world looks like, because a lot of them are starting to notice that kids don’t seem to be emerging from 12 years of education with any type of meaningful, well… education.
To get a better sense of what today’s parents are seeing—and doing—we recently surveyed over 1,000 families with school-aged children.
What we found certainly helps explain why our Tuttle Twins resources are flying off the shelves at an ever-increasing rate.
It turns out, only ten percent of parents say they feel confident that schools are preparing their kids for life after graduation. They point to a lack of financial literacy, an inability to think critically, poor job readiness, and far too much time spent teaching to a test rather than teaching for real life.
In fact, when we asked parents what they wished schools would focus on more, the most common answers weren’t algebra or advanced science. They were financial literacy, logic and critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and goal-setting.
Here’s what’s really exciting: we also learned that parents aren’t just waiting for schools to figure it out. They’re stepping in themselves.
More than half of the families we surveyed said they’re already supplementing their child’s education with outside resources, and nearly half said they believe their child’s school curriculum is shaped by political or ideological bias—something that makes them feel even more strongly about taking control of their kids’ learning.
Parents are filling in the gaps pretty much everywhere.
They’re talking to their kids about budgeting, current events, misinformation, AI, and the role of government—because they recognize that if they don’t teach these things, it’s likely no one else will.
This is exactly why we created the Tuttle Twins books in the first place.
For years, we’ve heard from parents who were looking for tools that would help their kids develop real-world knowledge, strong values, and independent thinking—but who didn’t have a clear or trusted place to turn.
The Tuttle Twins books are our answer to that need.
They’re not just storybooks; they’re conversation starters and worldview-expanders. They introduce important ideas like entrepreneurship, personal responsibility, economics, and the proper (and extremely limited!) role of government in ways that kids actually enjoy and understand.
Most importantly, they help parents reclaim the power to shape how their children see and engage with the world they’ll someday inherit.
Right now, during our Back to School Sale, we’re offering our best resources at the biggest discount of the year—up to 70% off.
It includes all 14 of our original children’s storybooks, plus companion activity workbooks, audiobooks, and parent guides—all bundled together to make it easier than ever to start having these transformative learning experiences at home.

It makes me really happy to learn that parents aren’t waiting around anymore.
They’re paying attention, asking questions, and making changes. They’re doing what the system won’t—equipping their kids with the tools they actually need to lead peaceful, prosperous, happy lives.
I’m so proud to be part of that movement.
If you're looking for a way to do more of what matters this school year, I hope you’ll join us!
