Parents: You’re doing better than you think you are.

Think back to your childhood for a second.

Can you remember a moment or experience that left a mark—not because it was big or loud, but because somehow everything just lined up perfectly for you to have been permanently impacted by it?

I bet you can still remember the lighting, or the smells or sounds that surrounded it.

Maybe it was seeing your dad help someone change a tire on the side of the road on a hot and humid summer afternoon. Or maybe it was the tone and measure of your mom’s voice as she calmly diffused an argument between your siblings. Maybe it was an early evening knock on the door and a smiling neighbor with a casserole dish and a Tupperware bowl of salad when your baby brother or sister was born.

We all have them. Those small, seemingly inconsequential, everyday things that somehow become big memories that we recall in adulthood.

Somehow, they showed us what kind of people we wanted to be.

Every time I have one of those memories, I think about what those moments are going to be for my kids. What small thing am I doing today that is going to be something that they still think about in 20 years?

We’re all just living our lives, making a thousand decisions a day, and our kids are there—watching and learning and stashing stuff away in their memories that will be representations of us long after we’re gone.

It might be the way you apologize when you mess up.

Or maybe it’s the way you talk about other people behind closed doors.

Maybe it will be the books you read together at bedtime, or a conversation you have around a dinner table.

That’s the tricky thing about being a parent.

Because you’re always being observed by the little people who think you know it all, you’re changing the world and shaping the future simply by being yourself.

That’s one of the reasons I believe so strongly in the work we’re doing with the Tuttle Twins.
We aren’t just publishing books. We’re helping parents like you shape the next generation.

And that’s a pretty huge deal.

Speaking of huge deals… just for fun, (and just for today!) we’re having a Tuttle Twins Cinco de Mayo party!

Right now, you can get great deals on the non-English editions of our best-loved books. We’re offering 25% off all our Spanish and other translated Tuttle Twins books.

No special code needed. Just click here!

Whether you speak Spanish at home, are teaching it in your homeschool, or want to share these ideas with friends and family—these editions make it easier.

But hurry, because this sale won’t last!

The truth is, you never know which seemingly inconsequential interaction might shape who your child becomes. That’s why it’s so important to fill your home with moments full of meaning. And one of the easiest ways to do that is to always be learning, talking, and growing together.

Changing the world doesn’t always look like changing the world.

Sometimes it just looks like a parent reading a book with their kid.

And we're here to help with that.
