Elon’s “America Party” Won’t Save Us

In today’s issue of, Gosh We Didn’t See That Coming, we have Elon Musk announcing he’s started a new political party.

This was the inevitable end to what has been weeks of open warfare between him and President Trump. Their bro-mance was red-hot for months, but ultimately fizzled out when Musk realized that the Leviathan simply won’t be slain.

The back and forth on X between the President and the Rocket Man has been pretty crazy, with Trump saying their falling-out was over Musk becoming unhinged about losing EV subsidies, and Musk claiming that Trump was on the Epstein list.

Yowza. He did later walk back that comment, but geez—what a spectacular breakup.

(Speaking of the Epstein list, did you see that AG Bondi has now said that the list that was “on her desk” and “ready to be made public” now simply never existed? I’m shocked, I tell you. Shocked.)

Anyway...

Poor Elon spent so much of the last year pouring time, energy, money, and plenty of his own reputation into what I think he genuinely believed were serious efforts to clean up the colossal mess that is the U.S. government.

For a while, it looked like maybe—just maybe—he was making headway. After all, if anyone could rattle the system, surely it would be the guy who can land rockets on floating platforms and turn dog memes into government clean-up agencies.

But alas, he was no match for Washington.

Over the weekend he announced the birth of the American Party. Some people are cheering, but I just have to laugh.

I thought he’d had his eyes opened wide to the fact that good intentions, money, and even pretty solid public support of “the people” can’t change what the political elites have spent decades building.

It turns out Elon doesn’t know what a lot of us figured out a long time ago:

No party is going to swoop in and rescue us. No politician is going to hand back the liberty we’ve been giving away for generations. No policy drafted in DC (or from a starbase in Texas) is going to pave a peaceful and prosperous future for our kids.

All of that is going to have to happen at home.

We have to raise kids who know where real rights come from and what it takes to protect them.

We have to teach them the kind of honest history you’ll never find in a government-issued textbook.

We have to build a culture (even if for now it’s only a culture within our own families) that doesn’t depend on billionaires or bureaucrats to determine our success and happiness.

That’s why we wrote the Tuttle Twins America’s History books and built a curriculum around them. Because when you understand the principles of a free society, you stop waiting for someone else to save you.

And that’s what I want for all of us.

Today is the last day of our Independence Day Sale—your final chance to save up to 70% on resources that will help your family understand how liberty is gained…and how easily it’s lost.

Because real freedom doesn’t start with the birth of a new political party.

It starts at your dinner table.
