Mike Lee is a U.S. Senator from Utah, serving since 2011. He is known for his strong advocacy of constitutional conservatism and limited government. Lee is the son of Rex E. Lee, a former U.S. Solicitor General. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School.
Before his Senate career, Lee clerked for future Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and worked in private practice as well as serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Utah. In the Senate, he is a vocal advocate for judicial restraint, federalism, and individual liberties. Lee serves on several key committees, including the Judiciary Committee, and is known for his principled stands on issues such as civil liberties, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory reform.
Mike Lee lives in Utah, with his wife and their three children.
